How does the AlterG Work?
The AlterG uses air pressure to ‘unweight’ the user. The treadmill uses progressive unloading to achieve maximum benefits. Rose City Physical Therapy is excited to offer this unique rehabilitation tool to our patients. We’re also making the AlterG treadmill available to the local running community for management of niggles, cross-training, overspeed running, and base volume building.
What do I need to wear?
The AlterG uses its own special shorts that attach to the machine once you are inside. These shorts will fit over your normal running gear (shorts or leggings) when using the machine.
Do I have to have an injury?
No. Whether you are recovering from injury or surgery, working on your endurance, or cross-training, the AlterG is great for just about anyone.
Will my health insurance cover this?
Yes. For our orthopedic and sports medicine patients, your physical therapist and physician or surgeon may elect to add AlterG to your plan of care to assist in reaching your functional goals, which would be covered under your insurance.
For the non-injured recreational runner, or elite and pro athletes, we offer a single use pay-as-you-go option, or punch cards that offer savings versus the pay-as-you-go option. The initial session includes a required orientation to the AlterG.
How do I book an appointment?
For our patients, inquire with your physical therapist if the AlterG is a treatment option to serve you in your recovery. Chances are your physical therapist already has the AlterG planned as part of your care if its appropriate for you.
For the non-injured athlete your initial session will include an orientation to the AlterG. You can call 503.228.1306 or email us to request an initial appointment, or schedule additional appointments.
What is your cancellation policy?
